DEBT PROBLEMS – UNABLE TO PAY
If you are experiencing financial/ debt problems we will be able to help you. In the first instance it would be helpful when attending your first session at the Bureau if you could bring with you the following details of your weekly or monthly spending such as:
- rent/mortgage payments
- council tax
- food
- insurances
- clothing and other personal items
We will also ask you about other outgoings you pay on a less frequent basis such as:
- Water
- Telephone
- Car costs, tax/insurance/garage bills
It would also speed up the process if you had a list of all the people to whom you owe money (even those you are managing to pay). We need the name, address and reference number of each creditor and the amount you owe. If possible please bring the original agreements together with all correspondence and letters you may have from a Court. Please also make a note if any of your debts are secured on a house and indicate whether someone else has signed for any of the loans.
If you are just looking for initial advice and support from CAB it is not necessary to bring all these items with you but we will eventually require all of the above in order to fully handle and to proceed with your problem.
